The Tar River Center for History and Culture Foundation, Inc. has published a 34-page booklet, Tour Historic Louisburg, North Carolina, which will be distributed at Interstate highway welcome centers, historic sites, chambers of commerce, and public libraries outside of Franklin County.
The full-color guide to Louisburg's historic district and other key sites includes a brief history of the town and a foldout map keyed to descriptions and photographs of forty-four properties.
The purpose of the booklet is to attract tourists to the town. Additional copies of the booklet will be made available to the public schools and at local sites, including the office of the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.
The booklets will be given to participants who take part in the Tar River Center for History and Culture's "Second Saturday" walking tours of the Louisburg Historic District. The first tour will begin at the Franklin Male Academy on the campus of Louisburg College at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9.

The TRCHC Foundation is grateful to the Franklin County Tourism Development Authority and to other key donors, all of whom are listed in the booklet.
